Women’s world Championship Tour from 2009-2014.
Paige first started surfing when she was about 7 or 8 and haven’t stopped since. She grew up in a little town in the North Island on the West coast of New Zealand called Oakura. It has heaps of point and beach breaks. Paige first walked in to the Mt Woodgee factory when she was 16 years old looking for a similar board to what I was already riding, 5’7 x 17 x 2 The boys gave me a deal on a second-hand board that pretty much matched those dimensions. Even though the dimensions were similar, the board felt way better straight away, matter of fact she surfed it for a whole year!
Back over the ditch and in the Mt Woodgee factory a year later for Wayne to shape she a brand-new board with the same dimensions. I loved it first surf and used it in the New Zealand Women’s’ Nationals winning the U18 girls, Open women and the expression session all on a beach break. The week after I won a NZ Open women’s’ comp at Raglan (a point break) and got my first ever 10-point ride on it. From then on no one has ever been able to separate her from the beloved Mt Woodgee boards!
she has now had boards from good all-round comp boards to big Hawaii boards they just keep getting better and better. Over this time, Paige has formed a good relationship with Wayne and Nick and the whole Mt Woodgee crew.
